What Is Catalysism?
Catalysism is an integrated, living framework for building and sustaining classless social relations within and between communities. In Catalysism, "class" means any structural difference in social, political, or economic power — not only economic class.
While AutonomousABC.org shows how our founding collective in Philadelphia lives Catalysism on the ground, ABCFederation.org serves as the central, open resource for learning the portable system itself.
Like the contours and colors of a map, theory must relate to a particular context and guide our steps without constricting our judgment.
The Four Interlocking Engines of Catalysism
Catalysis Theory & Principled Praxis
Every intervention moves on two tracks at once: Dissolution (eroding the Means of Domination — Concentrated Capital, State Violence, and Alienation) and Consolidation (building the Means of Liberation across Expertise, Resources, and Conditions) through a continuous loop of theory-informed action and action-informed reflection.
Principled Agility & Volunteer Scaffolding
Organizes work without managers across 5 Focus Area Groups (20 Focus Areas) and 4 Process Streams (12 Process Types) in 3-week Catalytic Cycles. Projects combine revolutionary impact with a low barrier of entry for volunteers and a high ceiling toward collective membership.
Principled Research & Liberatory Social Accounting (LSA)
Uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) and co-created Demonstrable Progress Markers (DPMs) to measure whether our work actually builds community autonomy, skills, and material resilience rather than relying on ideological assumptions.
Mutual Aid, Care Work, Renewal & Principled Defense
Turns principles into daily reality through solidarity-based mutual aid, Limiting Scope of Care, non-punitive transformative conflict resolution (the Renewal System), and human-first cryptographic defense (KB-DID-001).
